    AKYPO® FOAM LM 25 is an anionic surfactant that offers all the properties required for ultra-mild cleansing products.
    The new AKYPO® FOAM LM 25 Potassium Laureth-4 Carboxylate was developed with the aim of obtaining a special texture. The mildness of amphoteric surfactants is well known but hydroxysultaines are especially mild to the eyes and skin.
    BETADET® S-20 is recommended as secondary surfactants for very mild and high foaming products, achieving higher foam volumes than alkyl betaines or alkyl amidopropyl betaines. These products are easier to thicken when combined with SLES, thus reducing the amount of electrolytes needed to obtain a desired viscosity compared to other amphoteric surfactants.     DANOX® P-15
    Pearling agents are widely used in cleansing cosmetic products to improve their appearance. When they are added to a formulation, a white product with a high shiny and brilliant appearance is obtained, giving them a rich and luxurious look.
    DANOX® P-15 has a pale pink shade pearled appearance that disappears with time, light and temperature and that doesn’t affect the final formula. Easily dispersible at room temperature in all type of surface-active compositions. Compatible with all types of surface-active agents: anionic, non-ionic, or amphoteric.
    Compatible with other type of final appearance modifiers, as acrylates or others. Its anionic character contributes to the final detergent power of the composition where it is included. Its non-ionic component complements the emollient and lubricating power of the formula where it is included. Its current percentage of use is between 2% and 6%, but higher quantities can be used after checking the stability. Even though many stability tests with DANOX® P-15 at different concentrations and using different surface-active compositions (based on SLES, AOS, Alkyl Carboxylates, Sulphosuccinates, etc) have been done without troubles, it is always advisable to check stability in each definitive composition.
    DANOX® P-15 presents an additional thickening effect, which allows reducing the content of other thickening additives in the final composition.

    Pearling agents are widely used in cleansing cosmetic products to improve their appearance. When they are added to a formulation, a white product with a high shiny and brilliant appearance is obtained, giving them a rich and luxurious look.
    DANOX® PL-10 is a unique pearling concentrated product developed by Kao Chemicals Europe. Composition is based on SLES as anionic surfactant, Glycol Distearate as the pearling wax and a Kao specialty, LEVENOL® H&B (Glycereth-2 Cocoate), which provides thickening properties, enhances the foam, and improves skin and hair condition due to its emollient properties. DANOX® PL-10 is normally used in a concentration range from 2 to 6%. Depending on the dosage, the result would be a brilliant, shiny, silky, or coarse/fine appearance. The intensity of the pearling effect is also dependent on the use concentration. DANOX® PL-10 optimal use concentration is 3% to obtain a balanced opacifying and pearling effect in cleansing products, although lower and higher quantities can be used after checking the stability.

    EXCEPARL® LM-LC is a 100% active, biodegradable, clear, odourless and colourless liquid, which is easy to handle and can be processed at room temperature.
    Additionally, EXCEPARL® LM-LC is a mild product with some emollient and conditioning properties for skin and hair due to its hydrophobic Characteristics, and with no detrimental effect on the foaming behaviour of the formulations. Due to its chemical nature, EXCEPARL® LM-LC is a good choice for many PEG and/or Sulfate-free rinse-off formulations.
    The addition of EXCEPARL® LM-LC to a final formulation allows a reduction in the percentage of sodium chloride (NaCl) necessary to achieve the desired viscosity. The balance between EXCEPARL® LM-LC and NaCl can be easily adjusted depending on the composition. EXCEPARL® LM-LC shows excellent thickening properties, outperforming other commonly used thickeners such as Cocamide DEA, the most widely used thickener, or Laureth-4. A smaller amount of it is required.

    LEVENOL® H&B is a glyceryl ester derivative. It is very mild and has emollient, moisturizing, thickening, and foam boosting properties, which makes it a very good all-in-one cosurfactant. It also has a good ecotoxicological profile. It is liquid and has no risk/safety warnings, what makes it easy to handle and cold processable.
    It is very common to add emollients to cosmetic formulations to improve their sensorial properties. With LEVENOL® H&B this addition to cleansing products does not cause any problems regarding viscosity or foam, which is usually the case when using other emollients. LEVENOL® H&B acts as a high-performing emollient, better than the most widely used glyceryl ester derivatives in the market, while boosting both the viscosity and foam behavior of the formula. Successfully develop Sulfate-Free formulations, even if it is used as primary or secondary surfactant.

    QUARTAMIN® AB is Behentrimonium Chloride supplied in pellet form at a concentration of 80%. The fatty alcohol used in a basic hair conditioner formulation has a positive impact, not only on the viscosity of final product, but also on combing in wet conditions, as can be seen from the results shown in the graphs, where the cationic range was 1-2% a.m. and fatty alcohol range, 1-6% a.m., with the 1/1-1/3 (cationic/fatty alcohol) ratio being the best. The lowest wet combing forces are obtained with 1.5% a.m. QUARTAMIN® AB and 3% KALCOL® 6850, with the viscosity being 25,000 cP, which matches market requirements.
