Biochemica® Lime Butter is derived from lime peel oil and is obtained by cold pressing of lime peel followed by a full refining and distillation process to eliminate photosensitivity issues.
Lime peel oil can relieve stress and anxiety through its aromatherapy action. Biochemica® Lime Butter may stimulate the circulatory system and reduce inflammation, and contribute its antioxidant and skin whitening attributes when applied topically.
Large amounts of d-limonene, a very effective free radical scavenger, are found in this exquisite natural butter. In cosmetic preparations, the clean and refreshing scent of Biochemica® Lime Butter is very similar to that of a fresh squeezed lime. It exhibits excellent spreadability on the skin, making it ideal as a massage butter or carrier for treatment products. It adds moisturizing attributes to creams and lotions and bar soaps, and may be used in cosmetics, toiletries, soaps, massage oils and balms, hair care and sun care preparations.

What Is Murumuru Butter?
The murumuru butter supplied by Hallstar has been obtained from the fruit of the Brazilian Amazon tree Astrocaryum murumuru. Its large fruits are edible and valued for their flavour in South America. From its seeds white butter is obtained which has a unique melting curve and skin feel. Murumuru’s attributes have been likened to Lanolin (moisture-binding properties). The butter’s natural gloss brings a desirable shine to dry, damaged hair.

A novel, patented multifunctional ingredient and dispersing agent ideal for sun care, skin care, and color cosmetics
HallBrite® BHB is effective as a sunscreen actives solvent, inorganic pigment wetter, emollient, moisturizer, and carrier. A low viscosity liquid of high polarity with elegant slip and feel, it is useful as a solvent and emollient in topical preparations for skin and hair. HallBrite® BHB significantly increases the in vivo SPF performance of sun protection products through the reduction of electron transfer and photoprotection mechanisms.
HallBrite® BHB combines lower potential irritation compared to similar materials, excellent spreadability, added substantivity in the presence of water, and a pleasant, moisturizing skin feel. It is compatible with most lipophilic cosmetic additives, and solubilizes many commonly used active ingredients including oxybenzone and avobenzone.
Its low freeze point (< -25°C) gives HallBrite® BHB the ability to maintain these actives in solution at low temperature. It is an excellent carrier for micronized titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and cosmetic colorants (inorganic pigments).

When tested against major industry benchmarks for SPF and UVA-PF, much higher UVB protection (SPF) is achieved while maintaining comparable UVA protection (PFA).
HallBrite® EZ-FLO ZDX Plus is manufactured in a cGMP environment and consists of highly dispersed Triethoxycaprylylsilane-coated Zinc Oxide (58% active) in HallBrite® BHB which work together to prevent ZnO interaction with organic compounds and eliminate conglomeration. Olivem® 2020 is a naturally-derived cold process emulsifier based on olive oil chemistry for energy efficient operations. It is a multifunctional biomimetic ingredient combining excellent emulsification performance and natural dermollience. It can also be used as a sensorial modifier, stabilizer, and thickener to provide added benefits to a very wide range of formulations. Compared to other cold process emulsifiers on the market, Olivem® 2020 delivers superior sensoriality attributes and sustains skin hydration. It is environmentally friendly and does not require heating or pressure to perform, and the majority of its composition is nature inspired. The recommended usage level for Olivem® 2020 is 2-3% in o/w emulsions or 1% as a sensorial and stabilization ingredient.

Sensolene® is a multifunctional lipid endowed with emollient properties to provide high levels of skin compatibility while providing elegant appearance and texture to the formulation. Sensolene® is composed of a combination of fatty acids that chemically mimics the composition of the skin’s hydrolipidic film, providing physiologically compatibility with it.
Hallstar’s most recent clinical testing provided clear data that Sensolene® has superior dispersing properties for inorganic sun filters (especially zinc oxide) and pigments. Inorganic sun filters that are well-dispersed have more homogeneous films, so are more effective. Well-dispersed pigments means more uniform and intense color.
In addition, our laboratories tested Sensolene®‘s impact on compact powders when it is used to bind/wet the powders. Prototypes containing Sensolene® have a significantly higher drop test pass rate than those without Sensolene®.

SolaStay® is a viscous yellow liquid designed for use in skin care and sun care products. It is a highly efficient singlet state quencher for butyl ethoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone) and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (octinoxate).
Indeed, it outperforms octocrylene as an avobenzone photostabilizer, photostabilizes octinoxate and avobenzone when formulated together, is an outstanding solvent for crystalline UV filters, is easily emulsified, and is suitable for use in lotion, cream, spray, stick, and gel formulations.
At a recommended use level in sunscreens equal to the weight percentage of avobenzone in the formulation (typically 2-3%), SolaStay® S1 enables new heights of performance in broad spectrum UVA and UVB photoprotection. Used at 1-3% with mineral UV filters and/or cosmetic colorants, it mitigates the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species-generating activities of these oxides.
SolaStay® S1 has also been documented to substantially photostabilize cholecalciferol, resveratrol, retinol, retinyl palmitate, and ubiquinone, which may be incorporated in skin care products for their anti-photoaging and other benefits. The recommended used level for SolaStay® S1 to photostabilize these products is 3-5%.
