There are 3 approved classes of denatured alcohol in the UK: completely denatured alcohol (CDA), industrial denatured alcohol (IDA) and trade specific denatured alcohol (TSDA), and 12 types of TDSA. TDSA 7 is formed of 95% ethanol and 5.0% isopropanol and is approved for the use of the manufacture of car screenwash and the manufacture of disinfectants specifically for use in sterile environments (for example, places where pharmaceutical drugs are produced) only. TSDA 7 may not be used for the manufacture of more general household disinfectants.
