Why does social accreditation matter?
Verified social accreditations provide credible assurance that products contribute to fair labor practices and social equity, essential components of ESG and procurement standards.
They help you demonstrate ethical sourcing, strengthen supply chain transparency, and meet customer and investor expectations for social impact disclosure.
For Univar Solutions, this is how we connect science, service, and supply to deliver sustainability that drives shared value.

What it means
Social Impact Accreditation applies to products verified by independent third parties for meeting defined social and ethical standards.
These certifications show that production supports fair wages, safe working conditions, equitable trade practices, and positive community impact.
How it works
Social accreditations are granted at the product level following review and verification by recognized independent organizations.
Univar Solutions partners with accredited suppliers who can demonstrate responsible labor practices, transparent sourcing, and community engagement across their operations.

Criteria and Standards
We recognize leading global standards that verify social responsibility in sourcing and production, including:
Fair for Life (FFL), FairWild, Rainforest Alliance, Small Producers’ Symbol (SPP), NaturLand Fair, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and Fairtrade International.
Each standard defines measurable criteria for ethical trade, worker welfare, and local community development, verified through independent auditing

Supporting Documentation
To qualify as a socially accredited product, suppliers must provide:
- A valid certificate including expiration and certifier details, if applicable
- Clear indication of certification scope at product level
- Public registry or reference link, where available
- Supplier statement confirming the accreditation aligns with the relevant product(s) supplied, if unclear
