The Scheme is looked after by a trustee company called The Trustees of the Univar Limited Pension Scheme (1978). It has a Trustee board, some of whom are appointed by the Company and some who have been nominated by the members of the Scheme.
The Scheme’s assets are held on behalf of members, pensioners and beneficiaries in a trust fund which is completely separate from the Company. The Trustees administer the Scheme in accordance with the Trust Deed and Rules.
Your Trustees
There are 3 Trustee directors, 1 appointed by the Company and 2 member-nominated Trustees.
Paul Leighton – Chairman
Paul joined Univar Solutions in 1998, working in a variety of Finance roles within EMEA, he is currently Director of the Bradford based European Finance Centre. A Company Nominated Trustee Paul joined the board in 2017, focussing primarily on the Administration Sub Committee. Following the retirement of Steve Smith, Paul was appointed Chairman in June 2023.
Mark Mongan
Mark joined Univar Solutions in 2007 and became a Member Nominated Trustee in 2018. Whilst at Univar Mark has held various Sales, Commercial and Digital roles both locally and within our European business. As a Trustee Mark chairs our Governance sub-committee and more recently has been supporting Paul in the Admin sub-committee.
Daniel Mulchinock
Dan joined Univar Solutions in 2006 and joined the board as a member nominated trustee in 2017. Dan is currently Vice-President of Chemical Distribution. Prior to his current role, Dan has held various sales and commercial leadership roles both within our local and European business and was General Manager of our UKI business.
Looking after your data
In order to run the Scheme and pay members’ benefits, we hold certain personal data for members, such as your name, date of birth, address and National Insurance number. The data is held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Broadly, this means that:
we have a legitimate interest in processing certain personal information about you to run the Scheme
we may need to share the data with others, including the Scheme administrator and the Scheme’s professional advisers
given the long-term nature of pension schemes, we may need to hold the data about you for the rest of your life
you have certain rights about your data, including the right to see it and to ask for inaccuracies to be corrected.
