Deionised & Demineralised Water

Deionised water, or demineralised water, is water which has had (most of) the ions it contains removed. Normal tap water might contain Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe) and Copper (Cu). Although they are both forms of purified water, deionised water is not the same as distilled water. Deionised water is widely used in many industries including chemical processing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, power and food and beverage. It is also often used in electrical fire extinguishing applications, in engine coolant systems, and within aquariums.
